Who we are

WHY MARACUJA

Over 10 years Andrea Rocha Photography has been mostly a freelancer company focusing on photography. After COVID, new opportunities came along, and with it, we have here: Maracuja.

Why Maracuja. The name came from my Portuguese base, and it means passion fruit. This is one of my favorite fruits, and I like the “characteristics” of this fruit.

The best time to eat it is when it is all wrinkled – I love all the details of the people and all the imperfections.
I love that this fruit is ready to be eaten when it falls from the tree – We all need a push to be ready for different projects ahead.
It is a messy fruit inside – Life is messy, and that is what makes the sweet moments, sweeter
The fruits and the seeds are there – Life give us different projects everyday, and what we do with which one is the important part, it makes me very happy to help someone bloom there company with my work. We all start from seeds, and that is wonderful.

A little of the brand story is a lot of how I think. I was born in France, lived most of my life in Portugal, and a little in Spain, and I have now been adventurous in Norway for almost 12 years.
As many Norwegians ask, yes, I am a Portuguese in Norway, and no, I do not miss the sun. Being in a place where you do not have the sun all the time, makes the sunny days shine more.

I have a bachelor’s in Communication and Marketing and a 1-year course in Analog Photography. I am still doing constant studies and courses in the area of arts because I believe we should not stop learning and all the things in life can be good things to learn.

I love documentation photography. My dream was to be a photojournalist and try to do war photography, but it didn’t happen as much as I would like so I try my best to put documentation in my projects now.
I work mostly with Event photography and Wedding photography, because of this. Documenting people having a good time, and documenting the love between two people is wonderful.

I now work more with video, helping companies to have a presence online through social media, Linkedin, and also their web pages. I also have different experiences in the business world, and bring all my knowledge in this area to help my performance and try to help companies to innovate and show their best face.

Claire Liard graphic designer – assistant photographer

(I know Claire now for 11 years)

Claire has been my professional colleague for different years, in different companies, and I always love working with her. She is very professional, a great colleague, and an amazing friend.

We have the French language, and the art as a good base for our connection, and it is amazing to have a little of the French language in the office from time to time.

She has a bachelor’s in Graphic Design and started her company in Norway 11 years ago. She has made a lot of different flyers and projects, mostly in the printing department for personal events, and for companies. Her minimalist style is perfect for different collaborations.

She asked for my camera during an event some years ago, and although I always say no to this, I let her play a little with it, and I really liked the way she capture the moment there. Because of that, even thought she was a little retired from this industry, I asked her if she could be my assistant during my last months of pregnancy, and she was amazing! She takes the photo I do the editing, to have the same flow and the costumer are happy in the projects where we can be two!

I also try to include a little more of design in the projects I have, to let her show the best work she does! I believe we are an amazing team, and because of that, I hope we can have more of her work here on the webpage soon.

Although it has taken some years for me to take this step, I hope soon I can have enough work for me and her do Maracuja, full time! (baby steps)
